AdSense Placement

Placement of your AdSense units is the post important optimization method. Whether you are using AdSense Ad Units or AdSense Link Units, choosing the right placement for your ads will be key for your CTR (click through rate) success.

Choose a location which is highly visible to your blog/website visitors. Don’t hide your ads in the corner of a page, instead, make them visible. Placing ads within articles is a great option, as well as in headers, footers and sidebars.

AdSense Visibility

Similar to the previous point, but the visibility of your ads are extremely important. New publishers often think placing ads in a blank space on their blog is the only way to place AdSense. However, work your blog around your AdSense units; make sure you AdSense ads are displayed in the highest viewed site space so you increase your CTR.

Color Coordination

Don’t try and make your AdSense ads look like banner ads. Instead, make sure you color coordinate your site colors to your AdSense ads. For example, if you have a site with black text, and red links, use those colors as the AdSense ads colors. Also, look where you are embedding your ads, if the background is light gray, choose the exact same color for the background color of your AdSense Ad Unit or AdSense Link Unit.

Font Style and Size

A new feature with your AdSense account is the ability to choose a specific AdSense font. Again, the same rule applies as in the previous point. Choose fonts and font sizes that work with your website or blog.

Ad Size

The debate over what ad size works the best has been brewing for many years. However, every blog is different, and every blog has different techniques. But, the standard high earners are the 300×250 (embedded in blog/website articles), 160×600 skyscraper banner, and the 468×60 horizontal banner.

AdSense Unit Options

AdSense Ad Units are a set of targeted ads which displays the title, description, and URL. AdSense Link Units are a set of links which will bring a potential visitor to a search result of that phrase, and you will get paid if someone then clicks on a sponsored ad. Both are good options for monetizing your site, however, Ad Units offer better earnings.

Show Non Google AdSense Ads

The ability to choose another ad to display if your AdSense ads don’t is a great feature. This will help your site maximize your revenue. Also, if you use a Blogger blog, this will help as you don’t have much control over where your ads are displayed.

Use Channels

Create channels to track the stats of each one of your AdSense units. Look at which units are working, and continue to monitor your ads to optimize your CTR.

Test, and track your stats

Track your stats, if something is not working, eliminate it from your site, and try something new. If something is working, you may want to try and increase your earnings even more. Remember, always test and try to improve your earnings.

Making money off a web site isn’t a difficult proposition. All that’s necessary is a good site and a willingness to work to kick up the traffic. When it comes to making money off Google’s ad program, AdSense traffic will be key in whether a revenue stream is present or it’s not.

While any site can have a lot of traffic, AdSense traffic is a little different. The AdSense traffic is the traffic that shows up on a site that’s willing to look at the ads and click through.

Even if a web site has a lot of inherent traffic, boosting the AdSense traffic will be vital to the bottom line. Since many AdSense ads require visitors to click through to different sites, those wanting to make money in this manner will need to know how to entice viewers to click through without actually breaking Google’s rules about hard sell tactics.

The best way to increase AdSense traffic is to increase overall traffic. However, upping the conversion rate isn’t a bad idea either to capitalize on AdSense traffic. Let’s look at some ways to make this happen:

Make content relevant. Content that isn’t engaging, interesting or relevant tends not to hold a viewer’s interest. If content isn’t solid, visitors might not stay long enough to click through on an ad. This means that traffic might come, but AdSense traffic won’t necessarily be there.

Keep content updated. This is a great way to drive AdSense traffic to a web site. By updating regularly, and adding new content all the time, a site increases its potential to drive visitors to itself. Some of these visitors are likely to be the kind that will translate into AdSense traffic, too.

Limit outgoing links. There’s a pretty good theory that states AdSense traffic will remain higher on the conversion rates if the options for leaving a page are minimized. This doesn’t mean giving up on outgoing links entirely, it just means capitalizing on AdSense traffic by lessening those links.

Advertise. Some people who do very well driving AdSense traffic to their own sites actually advertise on a few others, as well. The key is driving traffic to a site that can be turned into AdSense traffic.

Make ads appealing. Don’t be afraid to experiment with AdSense placement, ads and ad styles. The more interesting the ads, the more likely AdSense traffic is to pay off.

There is regular web site traffic and then there is AdSense traffic. The AdSense traffic is the amount of visitors who actually click through and help a site make money. While all visitors are great, generating more AdSense traffic will take some time and dedication, but it can come with some great rewards.

AdSense is an ad serving program run by Google.

AdSense is one of the most successful online advertising programs today and it is becoming the most popular way to make money on the internet. It is also one of the best sources for website income.

AdSense is like a wonderful lover, who gives you great time BUT who is incapable of giving commitment.

Revenue
Google is the largest revenue-sharer around but they don’t publicly disclose their AdSense revenue share. Web sites wanted a slice of that share.

Have you noticed substantial peaks or troughs in revenue lately? When you spot revenue trends, develop more content for your site in the areas that produce the highest Google AdSense revenue. This should result in your revenue increasing substantially. I really started paying attention to revenue and ad placement about a year ago in September, 2005 and since then my AdSense revenue is up over 1000%.

Keywords
Always search for new keywords that can help you improve your ad relevance. The big question is; which particular keywords should you give priority? Finding and implementing high profit, low competition keywords in your ads really is the trick for making AdSense payoff big. Naturally this is equally applicable to other pay per click advertising. Keyword optimization is the process of fine-tuning a web page to raise the prominence of specific keywords, however, don’t over do it, or the AdSense mediabot will recognize that your page is overloaded with keywords and other techniques and may serve PSAs, so keep it simple.

Placement
For most webmasters AdSense placement is done in the same fashion as old banner ad placement. This is a mistake because AdSense is not banner advertising. Just like in real estate, location is the key to success with AdSense. The next step in optimizing online profits is to experiment with ad placement. The only criteria Google has for ad placement is relevant content, so AdSense puts your site on an equal footing with much bigger, “more valuable” sites. If you have a good level of traffic and your AdSense ads are not performing the problem can be narrowed to poor Ad placement. Both Google and the Yahoo Publisher Network blog give some tips on best ad placement.

AdSense is Dead?
A report came out recently claiming that AdSense is dead. Google AdSense is not dead – it’s actually very much alive and kicking. Google AdSense is one of the most successful online advertising programs today and the real impact of the success of AdSense is yet to be seen on the net.
