According to a poll done by Problogger a while ago most AdSense publishers, about 30%, make less than $10 a month whilst the second highest amount of AdSense sites (20%) earn up to $500 a month.

There are however around 5% who earn more than $10,000 a month from Google’s magic AdSense program.

This should give us AdSense publishers a lot of encouragement when you think that it is entirely possible to make $10,000 a month from AdSense as there are people making that kind of money every month.

So whilst these kind of earnings are a reality, to make this kind of money you need to ask yourself the following questions;

How much do you want to make from AdSense?

How hard are you willing to work to achieve this?

How much time are you willing to spend working the Google AdSense program?

If you can honestly answer “whatever it takes” or something to that effect & you are willing to commit yourself to working towards that monthly AdSense earning figure then you may have a chance of actually achieving it.

So How Can You Make $10,000 From AdSense?

Well here a two ways to do it;

Put up 1,000 sites that each make $10 a month

or… Put up 1 site that makes $10,000 a month

Seriously though you would need more than just 1 website but certainly not as many as 1,000 – that would just be too difficult to manage & maintain.

Factors That May Influence Your AdSense Revenue

Topic & Number of Sites Start with a few which have fairly popular topics such as photography or web design where you can be assured of enough demand & advertisers for Google to serve up AdSense ads on your sites. A topic for which there is little or no demand will not have enough advertisers for Google to provide your site with AdSense ads.

Earnings Per Click The higher your AdSense earnings per ad click the less clicks you will require to reach your revenue target. Therefore ensure that your content is rich with high paying keywords so that you get AdSense ads that will produce higher earnings per click – sometimes just 1 click can generate as much as $5.00 whereas many clicks will only make $0.01c.

CTR (Click Through Rate) The higher your CTR the higher your earnings for a particular number of site visitors.

Website Traffic All other things being equal, more traffic will generate more revenue

Relevant Ads If the ads Google serves up are not relevant to your site’s content your site visitors will be unlikely to click on them as they won’t be to do with what attracted them to your site.

To sum up, the amount of money you make from AdSense = CTR + Traffic Volume + Ads with High Paying Keywords + Relevant Ads

AdSense Placement

Placement of your AdSense units is the post important optimization method. Whether you are using AdSense Ad Units or AdSense Link Units, choosing the right placement for your ads will be key for your CTR (click through rate) success.

Choose a location which is highly visible to your blog/website visitors. Don’t hide your ads in the corner of a page, instead, make them visible. Placing ads within articles is a great option, as well as in headers, footers and sidebars.

AdSense Visibility

Similar to the previous point, but the visibility of your ads are extremely important. New publishers often think placing ads in a blank space on their blog is the only way to place AdSense. However, work your blog around your AdSense units; make sure you AdSense ads are displayed in the highest viewed site space so you increase your CTR.

Color Coordination

Don’t try and make your AdSense ads look like banner ads. Instead, make sure you color coordinate your site colors to your AdSense ads. For example, if you have a site with black text, and red links, use those colors as the AdSense ads colors. Also, look where you are embedding your ads, if the background is light gray, choose the exact same color for the background color of your AdSense Ad Unit or AdSense Link Unit.

Font Style and Size

A new feature with your AdSense account is the ability to choose a specific AdSense font. Again, the same rule applies as in the previous point. Choose fonts and font sizes that work with your website or blog.

Ad Size

The debate over what ad size works the best has been brewing for many years. However, every blog is different, and every blog has different techniques. But, the standard high earners are the 300×250 (embedded in blog/website articles), 160×600 skyscraper banner, and the 468×60 horizontal banner.

AdSense Unit Options

AdSense Ad Units are a set of targeted ads which displays the title, description, and URL. AdSense Link Units are a set of links which will bring a potential visitor to a search result of that phrase, and you will get paid if someone then clicks on a sponsored ad. Both are good options for monetizing your site, however, Ad Units offer better earnings.

Show Non Google AdSense Ads

The ability to choose another ad to display if your AdSense ads don’t is a great feature. This will help your site maximize your revenue. Also, if you use a Blogger blog, this will help as you don’t have much control over where your ads are displayed.

Use Channels

Create channels to track the stats of each one of your AdSense units. Look at which units are working, and continue to monitor your ads to optimize your CTR.

Test, and track your stats

Track your stats, if something is not working, eliminate it from your site, and try something new. If something is working, you may want to try and increase your earnings even more. Remember, always test and try to improve your earnings.

If you are looking to monetize your Website or Blog then Google AdSense would be one of best options for revenue generation through text, image and video advertisements. Just type “AdSense” in any search engine and you would be amazed to find numerous websites which give quality information on this topic. It also signifies the importance of making money online, many Internet marketing experts and intellectuals have made abundant blog posts and written ebooks on the same topic. This article would be of great use for rookies and people who want to get into Google AdSense.

We can find many discussions on AdSense on almost all major discussion boards, forums and blogs. AdSense has become a buzz for teenagers who want to meet their personal expenses by running blogs of their personal interests. Even fulltime webmasters research to find various techniques for consistent revenue generation without any copyright infringement and violations of copyright laws.

Ironically many authors who claim to be the authority on AdSense and other advertisement media are still thriving to generate consistent revenue online. For this reason, there is no point in buying ebooks on this topic. All the information that you ever needed can be found online and especially at Google’s own pages. AdSense is a Google owned program that allows webmasters to display pay per click ads on their webpages. These advertisements are content sensitive (or contextual). This means that if you have a website on computers, advertisements displayed will be about computers. AdSense ads are highly relevant and it is because of this reason it is more successful. In fact, in the 3rd quarter of the year 2007, Google made a whopping $1.45 billion just from AdSense alone.

There have been other ways of online advertising like popups and banner ads. However, these are not so profitable and efficient when compared to pay per click ads. When was the last time you clicked on a banner or waited to see what a popup was about to display? The answer would be rare. However, the case is different with pay per click ads. As, these ads are contextual thus they can easily blend in with the content of the web page. Users click on the ads only when they are interested in the ad, this proven result generates huge targeted traffic to the advertiser. Targeted traffic means more conversions in return of investment and profits.

Being a webmaster or an active blogger you might have already known that “To increase revenue from AdSense earnings we have to place multiple ads on rich content web pages. Here are some tips in maximizing your revenue with multiple advertisements.

Make sure the ad unit with the highest CTR is the first ad unit in the HTML code of your page. We’ve heard that there may be some confusion on this, so here’s some clarification on how we serve ads to a page once we know which ads win the auction.

First we would start with selecting the ad unit on our main web page. I got some amazing results when I selected an ad size of 300×250 rectangle. Apart from selecting the right size, it is also important to select the right place and color of the ad unit.

I went through a survey on how a person uses the Internet. The results were remarkable, most of the users move the cursor in the centre or on the extreme right corners of a web page. Considering these facts it would be sensible to place the ads in the middle of the page or on the right hand side of the web page.

Selecting the ad color is also important. We can select the ad units which match the web page color and start placing them in between the content.

How about selecting the keywords which yield good money! It is always important to write a quality content which the visitors find valuable. If the content is based on high frequency keywords then it would be great!

Now that you have known few tips on AdSense, let us try these tips and watch your earnings grow!

Most of the Google AdSense publishers commit mistakes naively which could ban their AdSense account.

These AdSense tips are derived from Google Program policies, Terms & Conditions and FAQ’s.

Never click your own AdSense ads or get them clicked for whatever reason.

Never change the AdSense code.

Do not place more than 3 advertisement units or 2 AdSense search boxes on any web page.

Do not disclose confidential information about your AdSense account like the CTR, CPM and income derived via individual ad units.

You do not need to create 5 accounts for 5 different websites. One account will do.

Label headings should be “sponsored links” or “advertisements” only.

Do not add it on web pages with MP3, Video, News Groups, and Image Results. Also exclude any pornographic, hate-related, violent, or illegal content.

Avoid excessive advertising and keyword stuffing

Ensure the Language is Supported

Do not confuse with adjacent images

Prevention is better than cure, so whenever you are in doubt it is better to ask AdSense for help.

A great way for webmasters to monetize their website is through Google AdSense. Many webmaster struggle hard to earn some good money through their sites, day by day. But then some of the “geniuses” among them are enjoying hundreds of dollars from Google AdSense ads on their websites and blogs. What sets these webmasters apart from other webmasters is that they think out of the box.

Those who have done it and are still doing it as we speak have quite a few useful tips to help those who would want to venture into this field. Some of these tips have boosted website earnings through AdSense quite alot in the past and continue to deliver results.

Here are the 5 most basic proven ways on how to best optimise your Google AdSense earnings:

TIP #1 – The AdSense Format

The one format that has work very well for me in the past, and still delivers today, is the so-called Large Rectangle (336×280). This format has resulted in higher click through rates (or CTR). Meaning more visitors out of 100 visitors click on my AdSense ads. The reason for this format outperforming other formats is that the links in this format look more like web links than ad links. Alot of people tend to avoid clicking on ads when they spot them. Choosing this format helps in making your audience ‘ad-blind’.

I’ve also had good results with the Medium Rectangle (300×250) in some occasions. Open your AdSense account and have a look at the format. It resembles the Large Rectangle format. Your best bet is to test the two and see which one outperforms the other on your site. I suggest to test both for at least a week.

TIP #2 – Custom Color Palette

Create a custom color palette to match the main colors of your site. You will see tremendous increase in AdSense earnings if you make your AdSense ads look exactly like the standard web links on your site. If your links are blue, make the AdSense links blue. If the background is white, make the background as well as the border of your AdSense ad white too. Your ad will look as if it is part of your site and will not look like a block of ads people avoid.

Here’s another color tip. Use it if you understand what I mean. I’ll give an example. I have a site with several articles on it. All the articles have a green title and the text is grey. The links on the site are all blue. But, my visitors are really interested in the articles I got published. So what I did is change all my AdSense color palettes on that site to green links with grey text. All the ads look like little previews of articles. I can’t prove it, but my earnings increase by 400% on that site from then on. Again, not all sites are created equal… If you know what I mean.

TIP #3 – AdSense Position

What I recommend is that if you have AdSense ads in the bottom of your site, remove them, or move them to the top. What you want is you want people to click. And if I tell you that most people are active “above the fold”, meaning don’t even bother to scroll down, than you want your ads to be in sight at all times. If your ads are at the bottom, move them to the top. Put them where people can see them quickly.

TIP #4 – Use channels

Channels help you in conducting a good analysis of the performance of ads. Use custom channels to check what web pages are making more money and which ones are obviously not doing so well. Custom channels can be used for conducting analysis on multiple aspects at the same time. Use this analysis for making changes to your AdSense ads. Improving website content can also get you better results. If can get people interested in more, chances are high they will look for more resulting in a click on one of your AdSense ads.

TIP #5 – Limit The Filters

Filters are useful for blocking ads that you do not want displayed on your website e.g. ads of competitors. You can filter out ads that you think are not paying you well by inserting the domain name of these ads in the “competitive ad filter” feature in your AdSense account. However, too many filters can seriously limit your revenue earning potential from AdSense Ads. So, limit the use of filters to minimum.

CONCLUSION

These are some of the tips that have worked well for me on all of my sites. It’s important to note that ads should serve as a beneficial part for your visitors. People are looking for good info. If you give them good info they will surely want more. If not your visitors will leave. Ads are displayed because it fits the interest of the visitors viewing them. Focusing on a specific topic should be your primary purpose because the displays will be especially targeted on a topic that persons will be viewing already.

You have built a website, made it live and it is getting a lot of web traffic each day. Now, you are wondering if using AdSense advertising will lead to some income generation from the site.
To help you decide, here are some advantages and disadvantages of this method of advertising on net.

Most people view AdSense as some form of miracle from another world and think of it as some quick cure. However AdSense has some disadvantages and you can consider some other options as well.

AdSense is quite beneficial for the webmasters. Many webmasters keep worrying about how to generate revenue for their sites and increase its profitability. AdSense just dispels those worries and helps the webmasters to focus on making great content for their sites. As a matter of fact if you concentrate on the creation of superior content with great paying keywords, it is bound to get quality traffic to your website

AdSense is quite user friendly in the context of customization of position, size and colours. It is also quite compatible with websites and easy to use. All this means that you can really experiment with AdSense to generate the maximum income possible.

Another great benefit of AdSense is that it can create a consistent income on your website. All that is required is the creation of good quality content and regular updating of the website. Many people just earn their living through AdSense only and are making it a big business.
AdSense does not need multiple accounts for different pages and a single account is sufficient for all the pages. This is quite beneficial for website owners since they do not have open different accounts.

However, AdSense is not all hunky dory and has some flaws as well. Here are some disadvantages of AdSense.

The most prominent disadvantage is that Google can just disable your account if it feels that your site has “click fraud”. Click Fraud simply means that some one is just making artificial clicks on your page.

This can turn really bad because it may not be you who is doing it. It may be your competitors who just want to shut your account down or a competitor of your advertiser who wants to increase their marketing costs.

Another disadvantage is that AdSense earnings are not constant or consistent. In fact many a times a mistake may turn really costly. People with AdSense account are often under a great deal of negative pressure due to this reason.

Firstly, you also need to take care that your website is in the search engine spotlight. In other words, your website should be at a prominent place in the search engines when people search for the products you have.

If this does not happen, then you will not have any traffic and which in turn will not create any revenue with AdSense. This in fact is quite a normal drawback of Internet advertising.

Moreover, the constant updating of your website is important since content makes all the difference. Some sites are naturally apt at this but for other’s this may be a bit difficult depending on the type of content required. Many website owners hire copy writers to generate good content for their website.

First of all, you constantly need to make sure your site is in the spotlight of search engines when people are searching for whatever it is your site is about.

If you are considering signing up with the Google AdSense program, you are probably wondering how much money there is to be made by getting involved with the program. You may think that your earnings will be less than they would from traditional advertising space sales.

While the inner workings of the AdSense program are a closely guarded trade secret, with Google neither disclosing how much AdWords advertisers pay per click nor how much sites displaying AdSense banners are paid for their placements.

There are no official figures, but there is a lot of talk online about how much website owners can use by using the AdSense program. There are of course those who illegally disclose their AdSense earnings; some claim that more than a thousand dollars per month can be made solely through the use of AdSense.

There are also rumors out there of website owners making more than $100,000 per month in AdSense revenue. While these stories stretch the limits of credibility, the truth is that you can very likely at least make your website pay for itself.

For those who host a large number of pages, AdSense can be a great thing. Even if these pages don’t make a lot of money on their own, all of those clicks add up and a significant amount of money can be made this way.

While it’s impossible to know exactly how much you’ll make by using AdSense, you can estimate by thinking about a few important factors.

The first thing to consider is the amount of traffic your site receives on a daily basis. You can’t predict this number exactly but you can estimate based on your average number of hits per day. If you can safely predict a healthy amount of traffic coming in to your site, then there is a good chance of making an appreciable amount of money using the AdSense program.

The subject of your website matters a great deal – if your site is on a popular topic, then it is inevitable that you’ll get a large amount of banner ad clicks. This number can be expressed in terms of CTR, or click through ratio. What all of this means is that if you have a large proportion of your visitors clicking on your ad banners, then you’ll be earning a larger income through AdSense. The best way to ensure a high CTR is to have content which will attract visitors, since your AdSense banners will typically be centered on the same subject as your website.

The number of banners on your site and their positioning is also important. Having more links means more income; but don’t overdo it – no one wants to visit a distracting website laden with ad banners.

Positioning ads on your web pages is both an art and a science. There are parts of the page which the reader’s eye is naturally drawn to and others which they tend to ignore. Knowing what these places are can help website owners to greatly increase their AdSense earnings.

Your AdSense income depends on a number of factors. However, if you have a website with many pages or content which will bring in visitors and have a large amount of traffic, then you can pretty safely assume that you’ll have a decent amount of AdSense income.

Even If you dont think AdSense falls into those catergories, it is still well worth the minimal investment of time and effort it will take to set it up. At the very least it can help to defray the costs of maintaining your website and make you a little extra income every month.

Few will be able to make a primary business from Adsense revenues, although Adsense is a popular way to earn extra cash in online marketing. When increasing your AdSense earnings is your immediate goal, follow these proven rules to multiply clicks and increase your AdSense earnings and earn extra cash.

Consistence and persistence are the keys to success in online marketing. The AdSense business is no different. Proven success at AdSense comes through discovering what works and doing it, while simultaneously cutting out the lacking parts of your technique.

In fact, it is a popular myth among online marketers that you must only develop and promote web sites that pertain to high paying keywords. Is it any surprise, then, that the most successful users of AdSense buck that trend by designing several web sites on medium priced keywords that have something in common? And then these savvy marketers save time (and in business, time is money) by designing web sites that trigger all those keywords at once.

For example, you might build your sites under the theme of ‘computers’. A single site limited strictly to computers is a common mistake many people will make. It’s much better to create instead multiple sites about things that also relate to computers such as laptops, hard drives, keyboard and so forth. It is the concept of more is better that will earn extra cash.

Follow these rules to earn extra cash in the AdSense publishing business:

As you go, track and analyze the successful tactics as well as those that fail.

Avoid obsolete technology as you design your sites.

Remove clutter from your AdSense sites to enhance usability. Keep your web sites focused on what they’re selling and nothing else.

Think of your AdSense business the same as you would any other business endeavor.

If you want to earn extra cash from AdSense, do what the most successful do and build quality web sites on your specific themes daily.

When starting out, be ready for lots of work needed to initialize web sites, optimize SEO attractiveness and to analyze results tracking and then repeating the whole thing.

You can use the latest tools and software to automate the keyword selection process, create good web sites and do most of the tedious seo optimization for your AdSense web sites. Buying the best software not necessarily the cheapest will eventually earn you more money because you’ll be able to make additional web sites in the same amount of time. Success at AdSense comes through continual creation of lucrative web sites.

A large AdSense income does not happen overnight. A more realistic approach is to follow these suggestions and build more AdSense sites on a consistent basis. Like planting seeds in a garden, you will reap AdSense income according to what you sow.

There are many publishers that have given up (not through lack of trying) with AdSense. For many it didn’t turn out to be what they expected because it wasn’t quick, it wasn’t easy and it wasn’t as lucrative as they had been led to believe. Essentially, they found it difficult to generate decent amounts of AdSense cash.

But for every beginner that gave up on AdSense there are many more that have made a success of the scheme. It is easy to use, but unfortunately difficult to use successfully, it can be extremely quick to add to your website but can take months to get that all important first cheque. AdSense is simple to implement yet complex in scope and depth.

AdSense success is all about generating continuous AdSense cash. But how can you boost your AdSense earnings?

One of the main reasons why some publishers abandoned the scheme is because they failed to understand what AdSense is all about. They were too distracted with the possibility of making money quickly to fully comprehend that AdSense was created to be a means of earning extra revenue for publishers. It gave Google an alternative means of advertising the ads generated from its incredibly successful Adwords scheme.

If you had a quality, well publicized website AdSense was the scheme for you. You put a few ads on your site, and if visitors liked what they saw they clicked on them; you’re happy and Google is happy, simple. AdSense wasn’t put together by Google as a means of making money quickly for publishers, it was created primarily as a means of generating money through the ‘natural’ flow of traffic on the web.

So how can you use this knowledge to put together a successful AdSense website?

This knowledge helps you understand the underlying mechanism behind the true AdSense success; the natural flow of traffic. The best AdSense sites simply work with Google and utilize the natural flow of traffic through their sites to generate ‘extra’ AdSense cash? So how do the most successful AdSense publishers accomplish the incredibly difficult feat of creating substantial AdSense cash? They do so by respecting the underlying aims of Google AdSense by making sure that:

The core of their enterprise is comprised of a quality, content-rich and rewarding website

Their websites are optimized with well researched keywords

They use numerous ways (and sometimes expensive ways) to draw traffic to their sites

And they continually expanded and updated their sites

If the above methods are applied well, to any AdSense venture, it will undoubtedly be rewarded by a noticeable boost in the AdSense cash it generates. If an AdSense publisher treated their site like a business and ensured that it only delivered quality information; visitors (traffic) will come back. If the website is optimized with quality keywords, then it will be ready for the search engines and as a consequence it ensures it appears in the most relevant queries. It will also attract more context specific AdSense ads from Google which will ultimately increase the number of people that click on them.

Using multiple means of drawing traffic helps attract people from different areas of the World-Wide-Web and it also helps increase your standing with the search engines. And continually expanding and updating your site ensures that it is fresh and current. Expanding it also helps make it more informative as well as making it more visible to the search engines. By following these few simple rules, you can also create a website that generates a significant amount of AdSense cash.

If you’re like nearly every Webmaster who has Google Adsense on your websites, you have undoubtedly been tempted by the Adsense Gurus who promise to teach you how to make a gazillion dollars a month with no extra work. While this of course sounds enticing, like everything else on the web; if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

I’m going to tell you up front, for free, what all the gurus charge $40 to $250 to learn.

Are you ready?

Are you sure you’re ready to receive this earth shattering, mind blowing secret that will MAKE YOU MONEY RIGHT NOW!?

The secret is; There are no Adsense secrets!

Believe me, if there was a secret method to make thousands of dollars a month with little to no work, none of these gurus would go through all the effort to tell the world about it. They would exploit the secret themselves and sit in their walrus leather super massage loungers on their solid gold super yachts and laugh at all the poor saps following the rules

There are no Adsense secrets, just common sense and a couple of neat little ideas that you can implement that will increase the CTR (Click Through Rate) of the Adsense ads being served on your website. And an increased CTR means increased MIYP (Money In Your Pocket).

The first thing you must realize is that content is king. If your website does not have an abundance of keyword rich, search engine friendly content that provides a valuable service to your visitors, no amount of Adsense tweaking in the world will make a difference. There are far too many sites slapped together with the sole intention of generating Adsense income. In fact, for $40 or so on eBay, you can buy a CD with over 350 websites themed to high paying keywords and setup for Adsense. All you have to do is enter your Adsense information and sit back while the Mailman struggles to deliver the hernia inducing bags of Adsense checks to your doorstep.

This is a really cool fantasy, one I like to entertain almost as much as the winning the Lottery fantasy, but it just isn’t going to happen. These sites have no original, valuable content. People who may be suckered into visiting one of the sites will see that in an instant, and view the Google Adsense ads as a desperate and annoying attempt at fooling them into clicking. If a live Adsense editor were ever to visit one of these sites, your Adsense account would be suspended quicker than you can say click fraud.

The underlying non-secret that all the Adsense gurus want to sell you is that if your Adsense ads look like content, and are tightly keyed to your own valuable, original content, you will see your CTR rate double at the least, and more likely triple or more.

I recently began implementing the three steps I am about to reveal to you, and my average daily CTR on one of my sites went from .86% to over 4% literally overnight. Now this is a new site, just under a month old and I only get around 100 visitors a day, but I went from $0.30 a day in Adsense revenue to an average of $6.00 a day in Adsense revenue. Now scale those numbers up to the amount of traffic an established site is getting, and you can see just how phenomenal of an increase this is.

Remove the Adsense Border. By default, the Adsense units are surrounded by a border with a text box at the top that says “Ads by Gooooogle”. You goal is to work the Adsense units into your content as seamlessly as possible, so get rid of the borders. Now, Google won’t allow you to delete the borders, but they do allow you to control the colors of nearly every element of an Adsense unit. Simply make the border the same color as the background of your website. This goes for the background color of the Adsense unit as well, change it to match the background color of your webpage.

Use Rectangular Box Sizes for your Adsense Units. Like most people, when I first started with Adsense, I primarily used the horizontal skyscraper, you know, the one that looks like a banner. The problem is people have developed an advertising sensory overload, they don’t even see banner ads anymore, they visually tune them out. You need to make your Adsense unit blend in with your content, so use rectangular boxes. I get the best response with the 336X280 box size. Most languages are read from left to right, so try to place your rectangular Adsense unit in a table aligned to the right of your text.

It’s all about the colors. Google gives you an incredible amount of leeway with the colors you can select for your Adsense units. Use this to your favor, in addition to changing the border and background color, change the link and URL color as well. Most people are accustomed to clickable links being blue, so make sure your Adsense links are blue, with one exception: if you use a different link color on your site, change the Adsense links to match that color. At the bottom of each Adsense unit there is the URL for website paying for that ad. You want to draw attention away from the URL and towards the clickable link, change the color of the link to match the body color of the ad, generally black.

Just follow these three simple guidelines and I assure you, your CTR will skyrocket. Keep adding more original, relevant content to your site, increase your targeted traffic, and watch your Adsense revenue explode.

There are many more Adsense techniques that will increase your CTR, but these three are the most important. Watch for future articles in which I explain the importance of positioning your Adsense units and how to track your Adsense campaigns using channels.
